Progression Ladder

Summoners war rune slots

This is generally considered to be the best way to progress through the game. You start off from the tutorial and make your way through the story. Here’s the path we’ll be following:

  1. Obtaining a reliable “farmer”
  2. Working on your Dark Ifrit (Veromos)
  3. Clearing GB10 safely
  4. Improving your runes
  5. Working on a team for ToA

Remember though! Every time you have a choice to pick a free rune set, CHOOSE DESPAIR!

Using Crystals in Summoners War

This is something that people often disagree on, there’s a lot different things you can spend crystals on, some people prefer buying premium packs while others exclusively spend their crystals on energy refills.

This is something you have to decide on your own. While it is true that new players should at least try out their luck on a few premium packs, it’s still highly discouraged. Yes, you don’t need the energy refills constantly because every time you level up, your energy gets refilled for free, but that doesn’t last forever.

This guide focuses on minimizing your dependence on RNG, so the limiting factor for everything in here is going to be either the free time on your hands, or the amount of energy on your account.

Obtaining a reliable farmer

This is where things get interesting. Clearing the main story is pretty easy the first time around but when we talk about farmers, we mean a monster that can reliably clear a stage at “hell” difficulty.

Summoners war best rune setup

Depending on whether or not you care about the time you spend playing Summoners War, you have a few, easily obtainable options:

  1. Level up your Water Magic Knight and evolve her to Lapis.
  2. Obtain a Wind Warbear from Chiruka Remains and put all the HP% runes you can find on it, remember to evolve it into Ramagos if you want it to be of any use.

Both of these will be able carry you through most of the content, just remember that they’re both completely different.

  1. Lapis will clear stages faster, and it’s probably a lot more entertaining to play this route.
  2. Ramagos is a beast unlike any other and will be your one true love for months to come, but it takes forever for him to clear a map so if you have the patience and the free time, go for it. Summoners War essentially becomes an idle game if you play this way.

Farming your Dark Ifrit (Veromos)

This is where things start getting a little bit complicated, but that shouldn’t really stop you from doing this. Farming for a Dark Ifrit is an absolute necessity if you want to play Summoners War as a free to play player.

On the other hand, if you have hundreds of dollars to drop on this game, you’re out of luck because we’re still going to recommend that you farm for this bad boy.

Veremos completely changes the way you play Summoners War, the reason he’s so strong is because of his passive skill that gets triggered at the start of every turn.

Removes a weakening effect, except inability effects, on all allies each turn and recovers HP by 3% for each weakening effect removed. [Automatic Effect]

– Conversion of Magic (Passive)

Unfortunately though, farming for Veromos will take an entire week since you’ll need a lot of essences from each of the daily elemental dungeons, along with certain monsters that you can obtain only through the secret dungeons that get activated on those days.

So keep an eye out for all the secret dungeons you need, add people yourself or go through a few chat channels asking for people with the secret dungeon to add you. Yes, there’s definitely some begging involved.

If you happen to get lucky and get a monster or two through your premium packs, good! Hold on to them!

Newbie GB10 Team

This is going to be the first time you start building proper teams for the different dungeons, the game starts getting a lot more interesting from here on out because you need to figure out what to put on your team.

Summoners War Rune Slot 3.2

The standard GB10 Team that’s recommended to everyone has the following members:

  1. Wind Pixie (Shannon)
  2. Light Inugami (Belladeon)
  3. Dark Ifrit (Veromos)
  4. Wind Griffon (Bernard)
  5. Water Garuda (Konamiya)

All of these are pretty easy to acquire, provided that you’re looking for them. Here’s the role that all five of those play in your GB10 team:

  1. Shannon: defense/attack boost on allies and apply glancing hit on enemy.
  2. Belladeon: heal allies, defense break enemies and remove buffs from enemies.
  3. Veromos: apply cont. damage, remove debuffs from allies, stun trash mobs.
  4. Bernard: increase allies speed, defense and attack break enemies
  5. Konamiya: heal allies, occasionally stun enemies, refresh ally turns.

Eventually you’ll be able to drop Konamiya for another damage source, once your monsters become tanky enough you won’t need Shannon anymore either. But until that day comes, you need to work towards six-starring your monsters in the folllowing order:

  1. Veromos
  2. Belladeon
  3. Bernard

With just those three, you should be able to complete GB10 effectively, if you’re still having trouble you can look into six-starring your Konamiya. We don’t recommend giving that treatment to your Shannon though because you won’t really be using her in late-game content. There are other monsters that are a lot more specialized than her.

Improving your runes

It might seem like every other rune you get has the potential to be ‘good’ but that’s rarely true. For a vast majority of circumstances, you want your runes to be highly specialized. Let’s study Ramagos.

Ramagos

Ramagos is a monster that benefits from from health, the more health your Ramagos has, the more damage it can do with its Clean Shot ability and the harder it is to one-shot.

It really can’t get easier than that. %HP %HP %HP!

Bernard

Bernard is another example that’s commonly used in PvP for one reason: It can increase the attack bar of allied monsters while also giving them an attack speed boost. If your Bernard is faster than the enemy team’s, you win. It’s really that simple.

But it’s also used in PvE content!

What’s the point?

Both of these monsters need very specific runes. The Ramagos needs energy sets with %HP on every single rune, as high as you can find it. Whereas the Bernard needs a Swift set primarily, with a primary speed stat on slot 2, and the highest speed possible on every single rune, ideally.

Remember though, you need your Bernard to be able to do GB10 as well, so going for %HP as your slot 4 and slot 6 is a good idea until your team gets strong enough to replace the slot 6 rune with %ACC.

Why accuracy? Because more often than not, the insanely high speed on your Bernard will allow it to get two turns before the enemy team even gets one, being able to speed up your team, then land a defense/attack break can be the deciding factor in most match ups.

Deciding between selling or keeping a rune

As a new player, beggars can’t be choosers. You’ll be keeping most of your initial six-star %Primary runes just because they’re better than most of what you have right now.

This means that any runes that have %HP, %DEF or %ATK on relevant sets, you’ll keep. RELEVANT SETS ONLY!

So if you get a six star %HP rune but it’s on a Fatal set, SELL!

There are exceptions to this though, certain monsters have some pretty fun gimmicks, such as the Light Bearman (Ahman). Every time Ahman lands a critical attack, it heals your team based on its on health. That means you’re going to be trying to achieve a 100% crit rate, along with the highest %HP you can find on him.

People usually achieve this by using blade sets and a crit rate rune on slot 4, until they can find more specialised runes and eventually find the crit rate in other places.

Team for ToA 100

Easily clearing the Trial of Ascension isn’t about how much damage you can do. It’s actually about stopping the enemy monsters from hitting you in the first place. Despair rune set allows you to accomplish that easily.

Best Runes In Summoners War

Since we don’t want the rounds to take forever, it’s a good idea to pick up monsters that can apply continuous damage. Fusing the Fire Sylph (Baretta) is generally suggested if you plan on taking down ToA – since his third skill allows you to easily apply continuous damage to enemies while also stunning them with despair procs.

Summons a Phoenix to breathe fire on all enemies and inflicts 2 Continuous Damage for 3 turns. (Reusable in 5 turns)

It’s also a good idea to keep Veromos on your ToA team for the added stunning capability.
